The Mines of Moria
hey everone! today on brickbusters, we have a first - a lego lord of the rings review! this is my second set of the theme, but I have'nt got around to doing a review on that, so here it is - the second biggest set of the theme, we have the mines of moria! At first, I didn't really think the theme was too great, but then I started to read the books ((gasp!) which I haven't finished) watched the three films and started to play the videogame of the theme. Now, like many others, I love LotR and have a very vast knowledge of the subject. on to the set now, as i'm sure you can't be bothered to wait through all of my relentless babbling about me having something which is vast, so lets begin with the usual mini-overview. The set is amazing - with a price range of £70 - £80, I dont really think that it's worth it as its a little overpriced, but I luckily managed to get mine for £50 and, once opened, you realise that the original price was perfectly reasonable, and, if you got it reduced, you feel like somebody very special.
MINIFIGURES
This set contains 6 minifigures, only one of which is not unique to the set - we will start with the moria orcs, the easiest thing to find in middle earth and the hardest to find in lego. The minifigures are very well designed, and, even if they both contain exactly the same pieces, (with the exception of weapons) they do have a double-sided head with similar but not identical expressions. I like the fact the have two faces so that it doesnt look like the same old orc everywhere. In all the films, these orcs are hewn down like theres no tommorow, but it's nice to see that lego have given some thought to the fact that orcs have feelings too. The next minifigure is Pippin. Pippin is one of those minifigures that is unique to this set. He is a must have for any fellowship that are short of somebody who tries to do good but always makes mistakes. The minifigure is very similar to his actor - he doesn't have the same feel of personality of their actor/actress as a minifig such as Jack Sparrow, but he does have some very nice detail such as back printing, a double sided head and a printed scarf. Next up is Gimli, the little dwarf with a big personality. Gimli also appears in the battle of Helms Deep, and so is the only minifigure not unique to this set. His helmet makes it into my list of top 10 favorite headgears (topped only by vintage greats such as Kingkahuha and Achu's headress'), as it has printing all around it and is almost identical to that in the films. The front printing of his torso is completely hidden by his enourmous beard and he has an almost pointless double sided head, the only visible difference when wearing the beard being his eyebrows. Second to last is Boromir, one of the nine companions and the only to be killed (without resurection) but his minifigure form lives on to avenge his own death. (?) His hair is unique in that colour, and he has amazing printing on his torso and legs to match. My only problem with Boromir is that he he should have had arm printing, but that is a pretty stupid request... The final minifigure is Legolas. He looks almost exactly like Orlando Bloom and has a double sided head like all of the other minifigures in the set. His hair is quite unique and very, very rare. This also makes it into my top 10 for hair pieces, and is also great. I know what you are actually reading this for, though. Right now, your probably thinking "what about the CAVETROLL?!?!?!?" well, never fear, because-....................................... "I HAVE A CAVE TROLL"!

MEGA-FIGURES
I have never done a review on a "mega-figure" (as I call them. I use micro, mini and mega figures in lego speech eg. lego games figures, regular figures and figures such as the wampa, the yeti, the goblin king etc.) so this is a first for me. The troll comes in 5 pieces - 2 hands, 2 arms and his enourmous, hulking body. The cave troll has printing on all of his pieces, excluding his hands, and has a very detailed angry expression. He comes with his enourmous club for smashing up pillars and tombs. I have edited this huge basher, by adding an extra chain from my own collection. Now, like in the fellowship of the ring (in the scene where legolas jumps onto his chain to shoot him in the face), he has a kind of chain mace to swing round and round and to crush little hobbits with...
FUNCTIONALITY
The lego LotR line has always been great for functionality in my opinion, and this set is no exception. It has six functions in total, most of which work superbly. the most obvious and outstanding of these is the twin falling pillars. I surpose this could be counted as 2 functions, but they both do the same thing. By flicking a switch on the back of the pillars, they fall down. This is a cave troll attack function, so they can fall if they are hit by the cave troll, no matter how hard he hits them! There is another section that is similar to this, but on the doors this time. and at a much smaller scale. Next, we have the well that pippin knocks a skeleton down. Although it doesnt fall a long way, at least it falls at all...Next, we have the "library" section, which has some books. This section also houses the two falling pillars, and a secret sliding out treasure chest (filled with treasure) moving back on to the gateway, it has two slots for an axe to fit into, effectivly blocking anybody from entering for a couple of pushes before finally giving in and opening up. The final function is Balin's exploding tomb! Its quite rare that you find a lego coffin, but they have appeared several times throughout legos many themes, such as monster fighters, pharos quest, adventures and harry potter. This function doesn't work as well as the others, as when you hit the tile, it bounces, but doesnt eject the lid or the skeleton. The skeleton flies out when the lid is removed, but when the lid is on, aint nothing gonna happen.
FINAL RENDERING
pros:
a cave troll
4 members of the fellowship? SCORE!!!
big cave troll
great detail
lovely cave troll
some nice rare pieces
uhhhhhhh...............what else?..................oh, the cave troll.
cons:
more orcs please.
This was my second LotR set, and I must say, its brilliant.

I would give this set a 9 out of 10.
wow. Another long review. Well, if you managed to read through all of this without dying, I salute you.
General Grievios' starfighter
Hello everyone! Today I will be telling you all about the magnificent 8095 General Grievios' starfighter (bit of a handful to say, so from now on, I shall refer to it as GGS) from the year 2010. This set is either no longer being produced, or is about to retire soon. :( I was lucky enough to recive this set and all of it's magnificent minifigures quite early on, and hopefully,if you haven't all ready grabbed one of your own, this review will persuade you too :)
MINIFIGURES
This set includes three minifigures, all of them exclusive. The first is Grievios' doctor/repairsman. He has two extra sort of "arms" that hold a saw and a light. He also has two droid arms that hold a claw and a zipwire pulley. His head is just a 1x1 cylinder with a 1x2 sloped thingy-majig with a sticker on it. Something the designer should have added would have to be a Kit Fisto minifigure, so that you can recreate the scene where Fisto beheads him. The next minifigure is Nadaar vebb. He is from mon calamari, just like the most famous character of ep.6 is (here's a hint:"ITS A TRAP!!! :3") dut there is nothing particularly special about him. The final minifigure, saving the best until last, is of course Greivios, (former husband of 3 wives and 10 children! seriosly! check on wookiepedia!) who has been completely redisigned so that his four arms finally work well. All of his peices are completely exclusive to him, so that you can get the full effect of all 4 arms at once. He is superb and makes a fantastic edition to any star wars brickfilm. When he appeared in the Lego Star Wars III videogame, he hade the regular sized eyes of your average lego minifigure instead of his clone wars eyes,(as was customary to all characters in the game) but they don't actually make that much of a difference in play, because if you are picky about minifigures during brickfilms and play (e.g. all minifigures should have the same eyes, realistic or non realistic skin tones but never mixed) it doesn't really matter, as they resemble griveos' hideos and huge eyes from the movie. He is an absoltely fab minifigure, and the only other set he has come in so far is his clone wars flagship the Malevolence...
FUNCTIONALITY
This set isn't based on functionality, but, like the haunted house, on detail. It still has a fair amount of functions, though. The first is the bomb dropping. This dosn't really count as a function, as its just a bit that drops off the main body, but its a nice bomb/missile thing. The next is the sliding cockpit, which is an absolutely lovely function that works every time and slides beautifululy (?) and Griveos can fit inside (if you remove his arms) The final function (and my favorite) is the hidden pop out missile firer. This also works very well and conceals it self even better. It has two opening hatches with two missiles inside to suprise your least suspecting enemys...
FINAL RENDERNG
Yet again, I have decided to review an awesome set, made even awesomer by its minifigs...
pros:
3 great minifigures
flippy outy missiles
slidey seat
extra gun to recreate the scene where nadaar is brutally slaughtered!
cons:
grievios' arms must be removed to place him in his seat :3
a dentists chair? Really?
?/10
i would give this set a 6 out of 10.
well, thankyou yet again for reading my review, and if you have any requests, put them in the comment box, sign up and it will be replied to all of my reviews! Keep

The Battle of Alamut
Hi LEGO Lovers! This is BrickEmiel and I will be reviewing the Battle of Alamut from the Prince of Persia theme. This set is absolutely beautiful and a privilege to build! For some reason this set reminds me of the Taj Mahal. It is a detailed set and packed with cool functions! This set number is 7573 and it contains 821 pieces. I have this set and I got it from TOYS R for £50 because the box was dented but the retail price is £70 or $80. It is definitely worth the money because its nice size and very nice bricks and comes with a range of weapons and accessories.
MINIFIGURES
In this set you get 7 minifigures and 1 camel. The minifigures are Dastan (Price of Persia), Nazim, Hassansin, Seso, Claw Hassansin, 2 guards and 1 camel. It is worth the money totally! Unfortunately LEGO has stopped making this theme so this set might be hard to find but you could find one on the internet :(
PRO'S
- Amazing functions!
- Beautiful scenery!
- Decent amount of minifigures!
CON'S
(Nothing)
Thank you for reading this review and keep on brickin!

Millenium falcon
Hello everone! This is brickictor here, and today I am going to be telling you about the 7965 millenium falcon! tTis is yet another amazing set that has many functions and minifigures! This set ranks very high in my list of favorite sets, and sits proudly next to the incredible death star, (see below) which is a very prized place to be...
MINIFIGURES
This is another great set for minifigs, and this one has 6, 2 of which have been completely redisigned! The re-used minifigures include Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi Wan Kenobi and the notorius Darth Vader. I have a fairly large collection of vader and solo minifigs, but its great to have another Chewi and Obi Wan! The two new minifigures are Luke Skwalker and his sister, princess Leia Organa. Leia is almost exactly the same, just with a new and more detailed hair pieca and a new face print that is double sided, with a smile on one side and her frown that she always wears on the other. Luke has the same as Leia, but his hair is superbly done and is a great hair peice to use in your brickfilms just to show that you own this magnificent set. Like Leia's, Luke's head is double sided. Unlike leia, one side of the face has a visor printed onto it, and, if you put the re-coloured snowspeeder pilot helmet, you can recreate the scene from ep.4 where Luke has to defend himself while wearing the visor...
FUNCTIONALITY
Like the Death Star, the Falcon is chock full of fab functions. All of the roof opens out to reveal the immensly detailed interior. The interior includes the return of the much loved holo-game table, with the new addition of two sofas or "couches" if youre American. It also contains two beds for Han and Chewie (since they use it the most frequently. Maybe they'll have to install more for luke and leia) It has two openings; one to contain the cargo Han smuggles and the crew hide from the stormtroopers in, and also the exit hatch. It has two escape pod ports (that have no escape pods :) ) and two turrets, one above and one below. It has an opening lid and you can remove the double seats, and you can recreate the scene where Han and Luke are destroying the attacking TIE-fighters.
FINAL RENDERING
This set was a great pressie to get on christmas, but I expect it would be just as good any other time of year, too.
pros:
extra Vader minifig (wasn't expecting him to be included!)
great and many functions
2 redesigned figures
hologame board (:D)
cons:
no detail underneath
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
?/10
I would give this set a 9 out of 10.
well everybody, thanks again for reading my reviews, and I know they are a bit long, but I'm only trying to help you out. :D

The Haunted house
Hey guys! Its BrickEmiel here! I am going to tell you all about the one and only Haunted house (Spooky voice) This set is number 10288 and it contains 2064 pieces. This is from Monster Fighters (My favorite theme!). It is a highly detailed set! It has many detailed bricks such as the wooden bars that go over the windows. It is £149.99 or $179.99! Totally worth it! Most people think RIP OFF! but trust me its not.
MINIFIGURES
This includes 6 minifigures! It comes with no monster fighters :( Some of the minfigures that come in this set are very rare such as the lurch and the zombie chef. On the top floor (the attic) there are some accessories such as a top hat and newspapers for lord vampyre. In my opinion I think there should be at least 3 ghosts because this house is meant to be haunted! but overall the minifigures are good :D
FUNCTIONALITY
This set isn't really made for functionality :( It is mostly based on detail. There is a function which allows the attic stairs to fold out when trigger pulled.
PRO'S
- 2 exclusive minifigures
- Measures 15.4” (39cm) high, 9.4” (24cm) wide and 7.5” (19cm) deep
- Very well detailed
- contains 6 minifigures
CON'S
- Doesn't include 3 ghosts or more
- Not many functions

Naboo starfighter
Hey guys! Its brickvictor coming at you with another reveiw! Today, I will be doing the 7877 naboo starfighter! Now, lego have done quite a few N-1 starfighters, but this, in my opinion, is the best. This is alimited edition set and is great value for money. It makes me smile to think that I own at least one limited edition set, and I'm sure the rest of you smile when you get one, too. :)
MINIFIGURES
This set contains 6 minifigures (if you count R-2 D-2 and the awesome new droideka) which are all really great. On a lot of reviews that I have read, it says that the droideka can't roll up properly, but take it frome me, this destroyer droid rolls up just fine. It also comes with little baby "ani" skywalker. I have to say he is brilliantly designed, but his face needs some work. Aside from his tiny, straight mouth, he has freckles. 6 too many. In the film, he may of had freckles, but they dont stick out as much as that... also, on the other side, he has his podracing face. Why? He had gogles when he flew the N-1, fair enough, but they weren't like that! He has a very angry expression as well, when he was either always smiley or always neutral... A good face to replace this with would be one of the LOTR hobbit's faces with a smiley side, like maybe Bilbo's face, from the hobbit sets. The two security droids are really nice, too. They are the most detailed droids I have ever seen, and much better than the ones that appear in Anakin's jedi interceptor and the lego star wars advent calender. The naboo pilot is nicely done, too, but there's nothing very special about him, and R-2 D-2 is the same as always...
FUNCTIONALITY
This set has some very nice functions. The first and most obvios is the R-2 ejector button. If pushed hard, this function works perfectly, firing the astromech droid high into the air! The next function is the super-charged flick missiles. For some reason, if you use an axle with a flat, stud free top, it super-charges the terrible flick fire missiles we all know to hard, emotionless KILLING MACHEINES. The set also contains two normal flick missiles on the mini service train, and two spares as well. The train also contains a fold up ladder for the pilot to get into his sleek ship, or for young Anakin to hi-jack the lovely ship...
BUILD
This set is reasonably strong, but the long tails on the end of the engines and the main body regularly fall off...
FINAL RENDERING
This is yet a third great set (there's more to come!) and I am very pleased that I bought it!
pros:
cool minifigs
cool functions
new droideka
cons:
sometimes the tails fall off

I would give this set a 7 out of 10.
well, thanks again for reading my review! The next one will probably be an original trilogy set (I dislike the clonewars faces...) and probably be quite large! Keep on brickin'!

Darth Mauls Sith Infiltrator
Darth Mauls Sith Infiltrator
Hey everyone! Brickvictor here with another review, and this time I'm doing a slightly smaller set for my second review. Today I'm going to be doing Darth Mauls Sith Infiltrator, set no.7961. This is another great star wars set. I got this one for my birthday a year or so ago, and its fab.
MINIFIGURES
This set is pretty god for minifigs. Unlike the death star, this sets minifig count is still in the single digits, with a count of four. The best thing is though, is that ALL of them are exclusive and fabuolus. I will talk about them in ascending order of faboulosness - starting with padme. With the return of her old hair piece, but everything else copletely redisigned, this is quite a cool minifig. I'm not really one for female starwars characters, and I have to say that being a male, I could have done a better job on padme than Natalie Portman (If you are reading this, mrs. Portman, I mean no offence, but your acting wasn't that great.) but ah well, the minifigs still good, and youre not hear to listen to my opinion of actresses. NEXT! Next up we have captain Panaka. Who doesn't like that cap of his? Nobody, thats who. he has a great expression on his face, and looks almost identical to cap'n Pan from ep.1. Qui Gon Jiin and Darth Maul are next. I actually prefer Qui Gon to the "yellow eyed bully" (see the empire strikes out) which I know some of you may stop reading this because of this remark, but I made it a draw so as not to upset anybody TOO much. Both of these characters are great, but not as good as the originals. Qui Gon looks more unhappy and less tough like the old one and like Liam Neeson in the film, which disappoints me. He also appears in the gungan sub set with a SMILE (since when did Liam Neeson smile?) which could also be improved opun. Darth Maul is really nicely designed, too. He has an all new spiky head piece to give that horned effect, and also a hood. Sadly, he looks less menacing and melevolent than his original variant, but he still looks nice, even if he is closer to the comical version who sings the "I'm so awesome" song in the empire strikes out...
FUNCTIONS
This set has some cool functions. The one that is most striking is that the front section opens up, revealing Maul's speeder bike, dark eye probe droids and, by adding a stack of 4 studs or a 1x1 cylinder and a stud in the empty area you can store his hood or spiked head piece, too. Although the front never opens during the film, its quite a nice little play area so your jedi and sith can have a battle. The probe droids can fall out of the underside of the ship in a charming manner with the turn of a handle on each side of the ship, so you can drop them at different times. Another function is that part of the cockpit's underside opens into a small stair case, and then releases a lightsaber and an extra blde to make Mauls trade mark double sided lightsaber.
BUILD
this set is built strongly, with the exception of the flap opening when the infiltraitor is flipped upside down (this can be fixed using a rubber band)
FINAL RENDERING
This is another great set, and another of my all time favorites. In my opinion it is good value for money and a great gift set for anybody who likes lego star wars.
pros:
four great minifigs
great functions
great play value
great
cons:
the flap opens if flying upside down
when will lego stop producin flick fire missiles? ever?
could do with young anakin skywalker
?/10
I would give this set a 7 out of 10.
i would certainly recommend this set to a friend.
well, thanks to anyone and everyone who read this review (especially you, mrs. Portman) nad please look out for my later reviews!

The Death Star
The Death Star
Hey guys! its brick victor's first review here, and im doing my biggest EVER set - the 10188 death star! I actually got this magnificent set a while ago, but up until now i never reviewed it! Since this is my first review, i decided to make it a special occasion by doing the biggest set i own ( now I know that this set must be puny looking to some afols out there who create enourmous battleships made of over 2,000,000 bricks, but give a child a chance. i got this when i was 9-10 years of age!).
ok, enough relentless babbling, onto the set...
MINIFIGURES
this is a great set for original trilogy minifigs and all your stormtrooper and clone armys (i have a feeble 6 stormtroopers... but I have 15 clones.) and imperial army. the set includes a whoping 24 minifigs (including the dianoga "garbage squid") and 3 luke skywalkers (for some reason!). It contains 4 stormtroopers (2 of which are han and luke, but you get 2 spare helmets to make them into hard, emotionless stromtroopers.) it also has quite a few rare characters such as Grand Moff Tarkin, princess Leia and 2 death star troopers and a few exclusive characters, like the death star protocol and astromech droids. It also contains awhite assasin droid with a black neck (possibly IG-88) so, if you want 23 star wars minifigures, a mouse droid and the dianoga, this set is the one.
FUNCTIONS
another awesome thing about this set is its functionality. the main function that appears in the corner of almost every room is the central elevator. This function works very well, but the one problem is that its hard to place a minifigure firmly opun it so that it won't fall down. when this happens, it can clog up the shaft and stop the lift from working...
another fab function is the closing rubbish chute (or trash chute if youre american) from ep.4, which hopefully everone will have seen. this funcion works perfectly, and can only be stopped by little horizontal pieces of tube and also the long pole han uses to try and stop them being crushed into bantha fodder. Another great function is the automated door we all know and love that appears in almost every sci-fi film. you can open it by turning the tiny knob above the door. it has a possible laser, another secondary elevator, a missile launcher, a collapsing cat walk, a conference table with a hidden compartment... this set is not short for functions in anyway.
BUILD
This set is very strongly built. I dont go on too much about this, but I know that some sets break as easily as when you tear a leaf in two, so i just wanted to say this set is very strong.
FINAL RENDERING
This set is fabulous. sufficient minifigs? check. lots of functionality? check. great pieces? check. everything on anyones list is marked with a great big tick.
pros:
24 minfigs
no shortage of functions
lots of movie play scenes
loads of rare and great pieces
cons:
sometimes the functions get clogged
im struggling to think of anymore...
? / 10
i would give this set a 10/10.
i would reccomend this set to a friend. and so would 98% of customers on lego.com.
